warm cloud pendant
This pendant is handmade from hand-harvested wild clay from eastern North Carolina. This white Sandhills clay has naturally occurring mica which adds a slight sparkle to the surface. The pendant was fired using a raku process, where it is removed from the kiln while glowing hot and immediately placed in a container full of combustibles. This creates a smoky black patina on the exposed clay surface and in the crackle of the glaze.
