magnetic pin cushion
At my sewing table, I recently graduated from my grandmother’s old tomato pin cushion (which was full of old needles) to my new magnetic ceramic pin cushion. This design is a hollow heart shape with a very strong magnet attached to the inside. Sewing pins and needles stick effortlessly to the ceramic heart and are easy to retrieve and use. This object is made from locally dug wild clay from Orange County, NC. The clay is a rich red brown color and the glaze is a pastel lilac. I added felt pas to the bottom for smooth table top placement.
