pedestal bowl, large two-toned
This is made with wild clay that I dig here in central North Carolina. I use this local red clay to make a liquid “slip” that is poured into custom plaster molds that I form in-house. This process creates pottery that is surprisingly lightweight. It is coated with a special glossy glaze that I make specifically for this wild clay. The bare clay base is treated with water and oil-resistant Liquid Quartz food safe sealer. Handwashing is recommended, just like for your grandmother’s fine china. But please use this pottery more frequently than she used her china.
